Jessica Lemarie-Pirés: My life in 9 objects
June 9th, 2017
I’ve always loved shoes and when I saw these Giuseppe Zanotti X Kanye West heels, I knew I had to have them. They were sold out everywhere, I had to ask a friend of mine to pull a few strings and get hold of them for me!
We got married in Paris and the Mayor, Bertrand Delanoë, gave a speech – for the first five minutes, all he spoke about was my shoes.
I bought this piece at Eva Longoria’s, Global Gift Gala charity auction. I love art, and this red panther by Richard Orlinski is one of my favourite pieces in my collection.
In December last year, Chanel sent this to me as a Christmas present. I was really honoured that they’d thought of me, but didn’t realise that I featured in the book until I opened it and started flicking through. As soon as I saw my photo from the Cruise Régine Show, 2000 I was so proud
Lion teddy bear
I bought this teddy for Robert in Cape Town, South Africa. I sprayed my perfume on it, which was Gucci Rush at the time, so he always had a part of me with him on his travels. That was 14 years ago, and it’s still around.
This Balmain is my absolute wardrobe staple. I bought it over two years and I still love it just as much as the first time I worse it. A good leather jacket is a must for me, every time I put it on I instantly feel like I’m ready to take on anything. It’s timeless. I’m proud to be part of the Balmain Army.
I bought these sunglasses on a trip to New York with my daughter, Naia, for her birthday six years ago. I saw them in a really lovely store in Soho and just had to have them. They’re Jimmy Choo and were definitely worth the investment – they’ve hidden my tired eyes on the morning school run more than a few times!
My iPhone had to feature here – I’m a mother and businesswoman. My phone is my life-line. It’s an extension of my arm. Emails, texts, phone calls. Whether it’s for work, the kids or catching up with my friends, my phone is never more than a few metres away.
My hair saviour. I use this before I dry my hair to protect from heat exposure and after to help nourish and enhance my natural curls. One of the key ingredients in The Serum is castor oil, which is renowned for its growth promoting powers! I cut my hair really short last year and have been on a mission to get a bit of length back recently; this has really made the difference!
This painting was a wedding present from a very dear friend, it’s a picture of Robert and I in New York. It has the names of our children and the date of our wedding hidden in it. On the back my friend wrote: “They had a lot of children, and then they got married.” It’s our own version of a traditional fairy-tale.
